File photo: PTI Washington: Looks like Barbie is getting a documentary treatment! Television network Hulu has ordered a documentary about the iconic doll, as announced recently at the Television Critics Association`s summer press tour, reports the Hollywood Reporter.
It is an addition to the upcoming live-action feature, in which Anne Hathaway is in talks to replace Amy Schumer.
The untitled project will take a retrospective look at Barbie`s unexpected origins to becoming the most popular doll ever created.
The film will include newly discovered footage and unprecedented access to the inner workings of manufacturer Mattel during a major Barbie reinvention.
The documentary will also look at 60 years of women in pop culture through the Barbie frame.
