Real reluctantly agree to Milan deal for Ronaldo

Real Madrid have finally agreed to sell their Brazilian striker Ronaldo to AC Milan after thrashing out a deal during late night talks, according to a report yesterday.

Rome, Jan 26: Real Madrid have finally agreed to sell their Brazilian striker Ronaldo to AC Milan after thrashing out a deal during late night talks, according to a report yesterday.
The clubs' lengthy negotiations had stalled over a difference in their perception of the burly Brazilian's value; the Spanish giants refused to budge under eight million euros and the Italians were stuck on five million.

But according to Italian newspaper 'La Repubblica,' AC Milan are willing to pay Real 7.5 million euros for Ronaldo, who for the past while has been confined to Fabio Capello's substitutes' bench.

The report said the 30-year-old Ronaldo, who played with AC Milan's city rivals Inter between 1997 and 2002, was expected in Milan yesterday for a medical.

Ronaldo began his stint at Real in 2002 after a 45 million euro transfer from Inter.

His current contract with the Liga side was set to expire in June 2008.
