New Delhi: Mumbai school cricketer Pranav Dhanawade has thanked Indian batting legend Sachin Tendulkar for congratulating him for his incredible 1009-run knock on Tuesday.

Speaking to CNN IBN, Pranav said that he had met Tendulkar earlier at a function and he is extremely happy that the batting maestro has wished him through Twitter.

The 15-year-old credited his parents for his success and said that they have worked very hard for him to achieve his goals.

When asked whether he sees himself playing for India someday, Pranav said that in near future, his aim is to do well in U-19 cricket and play Ranji Trophy.

Dhanawade on Tuesday entered history books, as he smashed 1009 runs in a single innings, making him the first batsman to do so in the history of the game.

The 15-year-old achieved this incredible feat in the Bhandari Trophy, an Under-16 inter-school tournament, at Union Cricket Academy ground in Kalyan.

The wicketkeeper-batsman got to 1000 runs off 323 balls. Dhanawade was unbeaten on 1009* when his team finally declared on 1465.

Son of an auto-rickshaw driver, Pranav amassed 870 runs from 59 sixes and 129 fours.

On Monday, he remained unbeaten on 652 thereby breaking the record of AEJ Collins who scored an unbeaten 628 in a club match in England in 1899.
