Pithoragarh/ Tehri: A forest fire in Pithoragarh and Tehri, Uttarakhand, broke out on Monday night. According to ANI, Forest officers, tehsildar, revenue sub-inspector, and the disaster management officer were present on the scene and brought the blaze under control within two hours in Pithoragarh.
In Tehri Garhwal, forest fires have been raging for the last four to five days, threatening to consume thousands of acres of land.

Tehri Garhwal in the Himalayan foothills has been engulfed in a forest fire that has burned for four or five days and has spread to within four or five kilometres of Kirtinagar, according to ANI.
A team of forest personnel, tehsildar, the revenue sub-inspector and the disaster management officer also reached the spot and bought fire under control in Pithoragarh.
The fire has also reached the residential settlement in the village in Tehri.
The forest department and administration have been unsuccessful to extinguish the fire in Tehri.
Uttarakhand generally sees tens of thousands of visitors over the summer, but this year's devastating fire may reduce that number.
