Mahindra and Mahindra, India's homegrown automaker and largest UV maker has unveiled the new 2022 Mahindra Scorpio, to be called Scorpio-N. The Scorpio needs no introduction whatsoever and the butch SUV has managed to carve a niche for itself in the past two decades. The new Scorpio is designed from the ground up, and innovations will set it apart from the outgoing model. However, Mahindra will continue selling the current-gen model as well under the name Mahindra Scorpio Classic. The new model, on the other hand, has been digitally unveiled ahead of June 27 premiere and gets a new design, added features, top rated safety and both diesel and petrol engine options.
The Mahindra Scorpio-N quintessentially has no rival as of now, as most of the other 7-seater cars like Tata Safari is priced above Rs 15 lakh. Also, prospective buyers of models like the Hyundai Alcazar, MG Hector Plus, will keep the Scorpio-N on their lists. Talking of the prices, expect the entry-grade petrol trim of the Mahindra Scorpio-N to start from around Rs 12 lakh, ex-showroom. The range-topper’s pricing might go up to Rs 20 lakh, ex-showroom. The 2022 Mahindra Scorpio-N is finally here with a fresh design, new interior, extensively-long feature list, all-new engine options and more. Bookings to open from July 30th.
The new Mahindra Scorpio is one of the most anticipated launches of 2022 and Mahindra has recently taken the wraps off the new model, naming it Mahindra Scorpio-N.
Interestingly, the UV maker says that Mahindra Scorpio-N will be sold along side the current-gen model that will be continued as Mahindra Scorpio Classic. However both the models will be quite different as the Scorpio-N has new design and features.
Debuted on the Mahindra XUV700, the Twin Peaks logo of the Mahindra now makes its presence on the just-unveiled All-new Mahindra Scorpio-N. The SUV features a pronounced nose with a chrome-finished 6-slat grille. The new logo takes the centre stage on the grille, and it does look neat.
The upright stance of the SUV is unchanged in the new Scorpio-N rendition as well. The all-new model has a bold-looking face with a high-set bonnet that is further accentuated by tight creases. The rear fascia also remains under the wrap, but the x-mas style tail lamps and an upright boot lid will gel well with the overall design.
The Mahindra Scorpio-N comes with an extremely long list of features. It is confirmed to be offered with a panoramic sunroof, LED headlamps, dynamic-swipe turn indicators, large touchscreen infotainment screen, Android Auto & Apple CarPlay compatibility, automatic climate control, connected car features.
As per a teaser shared on Instagram by Mahindra, the new Scorpio-N will have industry best 5-star safety rating Global NCAP. Currently Mahindra XUV300 gets 5-star safety rating by the independent safety agenyc testing cars under Safer Cars for India campaign.
Two engine options are likely to be offered on the forthcoming Mahindra Scorpio-N. A 2.2L oil burner and a 2.0L turbo-petrol motor will be a part of the package. Transmission choices will comprise a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. The option of a 4x4 drivetrain will be on cards as well.
