New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s #Sandesh2Soldiers initiative on the occasion of Diwali has received a huge response.

Prominent figures including cricketer Sachin Tendlkar, businessman Anand Mahindra and actor Aamir Khan have sent their Diwali wishes to soldiers.

Many celebrities have sent video messages to convey their emotions. Many chief ministers, cabinet ministers and parliamentarians have also written to the soldiers.

The people who would like to send their messages to soldiers can use NaMo App, Doordarshan and MyGov.in. The messages can also be delivered through the All India Radio – Akashvani programme.

Doordarshan and All India Radio are running programmes daily to convey people's messages to the armed forces. Officials said that several other TV channels have also taken initiatives towards this campaign.

PM Modi lunched the program on October 25 amid rising tensions along the Line of Control and International Border between India and Pakistan.
