Paul W S Anderson`s `Pompeii` set to release in 2014

London: ‘Resident Evil’ director Paul W S Anderson`s thriller ‘Pompeii’ will release in February next year. ‘Pompeii’ is the story of a Celtic gladiator, who falls in love with a woman as the threat of a volcanic eruption looks set to destroy the famous city, reported Digital Spy. The 48-year-old director`s latest movie stars Kiefer Sutherland, Kit Harington and Emily Browning. The film has been acquired by Filmdistrict. "`Pompeii` is the kind of big and bold film we all love to go to the movies to experience. We believe the film`s scope and storyline will resonate well with US moviegoers," said FilmDistrict`s Peter Schlessel. The screenplay of ‘Pompeii’ is written by Lee Batchler, Janet Scott Batchler, Michael Robert Johnson and Julian Fellowes. The thriller will release on February 28, 2014. PTI
