IP addresses are what devices connected to the internet use to identify and communicate with each other.
We've been expecting to run out of IPv4 for a while, which is why they developed IPv6 a while ago.
Users don't have to bother, but organisations and ISPs do have to make the switch.
•IPv4 IP addresses have run out in North America region
•IPv4 is 32-bit, giving about 4.3 billion addresses total
•Now moving to IPv6, 128-bit
•All other regions have already run out of IPv4 by now, except for Africa
