Los Angeles: Actress Mischa Barton was left stunned when cops arrived at her house in response to an emergency call.
The `OC` star was at her home here when police showed up to investigate reports of a woman screaming on the property, reported TMZ online.
Law enforcement sources said that the person, who dialled 911 about the emergency mistakenly, gave Barton`s address as the location of the disturbance.
Barton`s father Paul, who was also present at the time of the incident, feared his daughter had been the victim of a `swatting` prank, but the unidentified woman in trouble was actually further down the block.
In recent weeks, A-listers including Ashton Kutcher, Justin Bieber and Tom Cruise have been `swatted` by crank callers who have reported fake crimes to elicit an urgent police response.
