It’s ‘Chashme Buddoor’ vs ‘Chashme Buddoor’ on April 5!

Zeenews Bureau New Delhi: The 1981 cult classic ‘Chashme Buddoor’ is all set to woo the Indian audiences yet again on April 5, 2013 – the exact same day its remake is set to hit theatres. Sai Paranjpe’s ‘Chashme Buddoor’ stars Farooq Sheikh, Ravi Baswani and Rakesh Bedi as three friends whose half-baked scheme to woo a damsel, played by Deepti Naval, fails. “Earlier we had decided to release it one week ahead and then decided to do it on the same day because the buzz will be maximum during that time,” a leading daily quoted Shiladitya Bora, head of Director`s Rare - an alternative programming wing of the PVR multiplex chain, as saying. The remake - by David Dhawan – stars Ali Zafar and Taapsee Pannu in the lead roles. Bora added that it would be unjust to compare the two movies as the original flick opens in limited release for a niche audience unlike the remake. The audience is definitely going to face a dilemma choosing which ‘Chashme Buddoor’ to watch on April 5!
