Mumbai: After mesmerising the whole world with her beauty, Katrina Kaif would uncover a new facet of her personality as she prepares to croon for the ‘Mozart of Madras’ AR Rahman! For long, she aspired to sing and her dream is now about to come true with Yash Chopra`s directorial comeback. The song is penned by Gulzar and composed by AR Rahman.
Kat, reportedly was to lend her voice in one of the songs in ‘Dhoom 3’, but that plan has been kept on hold for a while. And when, another opportunity came from Yash Raj’s upcoming untitled film, she lapped it instantly.
Talking to daily, a close friend of Kat said, “No half-measures for Katrina these days. She had earlier decided to sing for Yash Raj`s ‘Dhoom 3’ with about a week of rehearsals thrown in. But now, she has grown more ambitious and wants to try out a more complex singing challenge the other film directed by Yash Chopra has thrown at her."
While Kat initially shied away from singing in public, but when she recited nursery rhymes for a charity album composed by AR Rahman, she bonded with the music composer and the idea of her singing in a film took seed.
Kat’s friend added, "Earlier, Kat had a persistent offer from Ali Zafar to sing with him for his private album. He was keen but she begged off. Then came the chance to sing in Dhoom 3, which she liked. But now, the prospect of singing a dreamy romantic song for a Yash Raj film, written by Gulzar and composed by AR Rahman has caught her fancy."
Interestingly, rival Priyanka Chopra will be heard singing in Apoorva Lakhia`s ‘Zanjeer’. Well, Shreyas, Sunidhis and Alkas of the town, you got some competition!
